Use of Library Systems
The University of Arizona Library provides Internet access via its online gateway to library materials and to resources on the World Wide Web. In addition, the Library furnishes public access to these and other information resources from personal computers located throughout the Main and branch libraries. These systems are available for legitimate academic purposes: undergraduate and graduate education, teaching, and research. The Library allows any legal use of these computers that doesn't violate campus policies. However, the use of these resources for game playing, personal transactions and recreational Web surfing is strongly discouraged. Academic users of these computers have priority. The Library has specific rules governing the use of public Ethernet lines with personal laptop computers. All University policies regarding use of campus networks, hardware, and software apply and will be enforced as necessary. Users may not attempt to interfere with the physical computer network/hardware, or take any action that degrades the performance or integrity of any campus network or computer system. Users who violate these policies may be bared from access to the library. Other, more severe, penalties may apply. Consult the CCIT Computer and Network Usage Policy and the University of Arizona Electronic Mail Policy for more information.
