National Flute Association Library
Research & Assistance
The NFA Music Collection is located at the University of Arizona Fine Arts Library in Tucson, Arizona. In 1974, the library started with approximately 1000 items. With generous donations, and music from the NFA Newly Published music competition, the collection has grown to over 15,000 scores. This large library includes special collections of music that have been donated by flutists throughout the years. These collections hold both rare editions and out of print scores.
Scores may be circulated to NFA members and to people enrolled in or employed by the University of Arizona.
Online Library Search
The collection is available for online viewing and searching through the University's online catalog.
Several special collections of late 19th and early 20th century scores in the NFA Collection are not listed in the UA online catalog, but separate catalogs of them may be viewed on the NFA website under Library Collections. These include the Gutkind, Lewis, Medicus, and Nielsen Collections.
Reference service is also available at no charge. Please send your questions to: email@example.com and every effort will be made to answer them within one working day.
