Introduction

This tutorial will show you how to add the Business Research/Library Tools tab to your course, edit existing tabs, and remove the tab.

 

To get started, login to your Blackboard account.

 

Select the course you would like to edit.

 If the Business Research/Library Tools tab isn't visible in the menu on the left, then select the + button.

 From the drop down menu, select the "Tool Link."

3 of 4Once you have selected the "Tool Link," select the "Business Research/Library Tools" option from the drop down list.

Circles the make available to students tick box, and provides arrows direct users to select the drop down option, and choosing the, "Business Research/Library Tools" option from the list.

 

In the * Name section give the link the name of Business Research/Library Tools and submit.

 When you follow the link to the Business Research/Library Tools tab, there should be customized links to library resources based on the prefix of your course.

If you don't see any links please email Jason Dewland at dewlandj@u.library.arizona.edu with the course title and designation (exp. MKTG 471).

 

To modify or customize the link proceed to the next page of the tutorial.

 

To remove the link from your course hover over the "Contents" tab above and select the "Remove Business Research/Library Tools" chapter.

To begin the process of editing your Business Research Link select the "Edit" link in the top right of the page.

 To move the order of existing resources drag and drop the resource to the position that you wish by selecting the blue star by that resources name.

 

To remove a resource from the guide select the red X by the resources name and it will be removed.

 

Blue star circled to the left of the first resource. If you select the blue star you may move that resource to a different position or box. Red X is circled t the right of the second resource, select the X to remove a resource from the tab.

 To add a library resource to the page, select the "add resources" link and a menu will open on the right of the page.

 

From there you may select what type of resource you would like to add.

You may search for resources to add by subject.  First select the type resource you would like to add (database, items from the catalog, tutorial, etc.) in the example below databases was selected.

 

From the subject drop down menu, select the subject you would like to see the resources available (this example it is business).

To add one of these resources drag and drop it by selecting the blue star by its name and moving it to the box of your choice.

 Database tab is open and the subject drop down is circled on the right with business selected. Blue star is circled by a resource to indicate that is how to drag and drop that resource into the box of your choice.

 

Removing the Business Research Tool Link in Blackboard

To remove the Business Research/Library Tools link from your page hover over the link and select the downward arrow to see the drop down menu.  Select delete.

 

Circle next to the Business Research/Library Tools link in menu, it is here that you will select the downward arrow to open up the drop down menu. Choose delete from the menu to remove the Business Research/Library Tools link.
