Living the Future

Process Improvement and Organizational Change at the University of Arizona Library

Many libraries have turned to organizational redesign in order to meet customer demands effectively in times of economic uncertainty and technological change. However, only the University of Arizona Library has completely restructured from top to bottom. The Living the Future conference will focus on the organizational change process at the University of Arizona Library. Now in the third year of a team-based, user-centered, flattened organizational structure, the UA Library staff are eager to describe the change process, our successes and failures.
Come to Tucson to hear about "A Day in the Life" of the UA Library!
Conference programming will cover five major themes in plenary session presentations:
Conference attendees will choose from concurrent sessions that meet specific interests or specialties.
Conference attendees will have time for in-depth dialogue and informal exchange of information with the UA Library staff throughout the conference.
Special conference highlight: Director Susan Jurow and Organization Development Consultant Maureen Sullivan from the Association of Research Libraries, Office of Management Services will give a special plenary conference presentation with the University of Arizona Human Resources trainers. You won't want to miss this session on the role of consultants in organizational transformation!
