Pick up a cab right outside of the airport after you pick up your luggage.
Usually, you will not have to wait for a taxi; many are lined up waiting for potential fares.
Arizona Stagecoach (520-889-1000) is the local shuttle service which will take you directly to your hotel.
They are located on the ground floor of the airport between Hertz and Dollar rent-a-car. Rates quoted below are to the conference hotel, the Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites; other destinations may be different rates:

There's also a "couples" rate that they will apply to any two people traveling at the same time to the same destination; ask for the couples rate:

You can take the Arizona Shuttle to Tucson. They have prearranged drop-off locations; you will then need to take a taxi to your hotel. There is a drop off at 5350 E. Drive out of the airport on Tucson Blvd.
Cross Valencia and continue to go straight.
Tucson Blvd. will curve left and become Benson Highway.
Turn right on Kino Parkway. Stay on Kino for several miles; Kino becomes Campbell.
After you cross 6th Street you will pass The University of Arizona, on your left, before you get to Speedway.
Cross Speedway and keep going. Stay in the center lane, which will turn into the right lane after the intersection at Elm Street.
The next major intersection after Elm is Grant Road.
Turn right on Grant and keep driving. You are now driving east.
Expect a good amount of traffic, with several stop lights along the way Tucson Blvd, Alvernon, Columbus, then Swan.
After you cross Swan, look for the Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites on the left or north side. Is it located on the northeast corner of Rosemont Blvd. and Grant Rd.
If you come to Craycroft you have gone too far.
Exit Tucson International Airport, taking Tucson Blvd, and turn right onto Valencia.
Take Valencia to Alvernon Way and take a left.
Stay on Alvernon Way for approximately 6 miles to Grant Road.
Turn right onto Grant Road and proceed approximately 1.5 miles.
The hotel will be on your left, on the northeast corner of Grant Rd. and Rosemont Blvd., shortly after Swan Road.
If you hit Craycroft Blvd. you have gone to far.

Exiting the Sheraton, take a right on Grant Road (head west) for several miles.
Take a left on Campbell Ave.
Take a right on Speedway Blvd.
Take your first left onto Cherry Ave.
When you pass University Blvd. (the Mall), the Main Library is on your Right.
SunTran is the public bus system in Tucson. Route #9 will take you down Grant Road and drop you off just minutes walking distance from the UA Main Library. Rates are $1 one-way and $2 for day pass. Exact change is necessary.
Exit at the UA Mall bus stop. Head west on University Blvd., crossing Cherry Ave. The Main Library is immediately on your left.
