Junior Scientists Day Volunteer Form
Dear Potential Junior Scientists UA Volunteer:
We're looking for UA faculty, students and staff to help with our sixth annual Junior Scientists Kids' Day at the Science Engineering Library on Homecoming Saturday, October 25, 2008.
Thanks to our fabulous volunteer workers, our Junior Scientists Kids' Day ran very smoothly last year, and approximately 1200 kids and their parents attended this event. Our volunteers reported that they enjoyed not only the fun atmosphere of the event, but also the free pizza/soda lunch for volunteers and activity presenters.
Here are some of the volunteer work assignments we need to cover to make our 2008 Junior Scientists Day a huge success (times TBA):
- General set-up
- Filling helium balloons & attaching ribbon
- Distributing flyers advertising our event on the UA Mall
- Greeting visitors at the door with maps and activity schedules
- Working the registration/drawings/giveaway tables
- Working the popcorn machine (free to public)
- Helping our science and engineering presenters with their activities
- Helping at the volunteer free pizza/veggie/drinks luncheon f
- General take-down assistance
