Codex Mendoza, p. 71r.
The top of the page shows the maximum penalty under Aztec law for drunkenness, theft and adultery. The lower part shows how the elderly over age seventy were allowed to drink alcohol, but not those younger. Both the man in the middle with the large tongue-glyph and his wife at the bottom right are over seventy years of age enjoying the privilege of their generation.
