The Christian funeral of Coatl

Coatl "Serpent", the deceased lord of Xicotepec is buried, according to Christian custom. Native dignitaries help in the funeral rites. The larger figure right of the dignitaries is a Spaniard, who envisions God the Father in heaven, who is crowned with a tiara. The figure in the top left corner may be the new lord of Xicotepec.

The years represented at the top are 1528 through 1533.
