Welcome to the Capin Collection Homepage. This World Wide Web exhibit
features one of the pioneer Jewish mercantile families of Southern
Arizona.
Hyman and Dora Capin centered their business operations in the small
border city of Nogales, Arizona. For seventy years the family business
grew to include many enterprises within the Capin Mercantile Corporation.
In addition to owning a business that would become one of the top
employers in the region, family members made important contributions to
the cultural, civic, and intellectual life of Arizona and the
Southwest.
