Dora Dobra Loon
 [17K] (AJHS)
The Capin family name was originally spelled as Kapinski. In 1875,
Mose and Chiasilla Kapinski and their immediate family left Poneveza,
Kovno gubernia, Russia-Lithuania, and immigrated to Manchester, England.
They worked as tailors in England.
From 1889 to 1897 various Kapinski family members immigrated to the
United States. Upon arrival in the U.S., the family name was changed to
its present spelling.
Eventually, Hyman Capin with his wife Dora Loon Capin settled in
Nogales, Arizona, and opened a small tailor shop. Hyman would later
venture into other businesses in both Mexico and the United States.
Today, the Capin family continues to operate businesses throughout
Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, as well as continuing to serve their
Mexican customers.
