The University of Arizona is recognized for a pioneering spirit - a seemingly inevitable distinction given the great geographical fortune bestowed upon the university. The dynamic history of southern Arizona and the city of Tucson not only shaped the UA as it is today but are also emblematic of the Southwest. However, the historical records that reveal the identity of Tucson are in danger of being lost for good without the attention and care necessary for preservation. Librarians and archivists at the UA Libraries recognize the critical need to preserve the precious past of southern Arizona and the city of Tucson by identifying, acquiring, and making digitally available historical records of the region. Your gift to Preserving Tucson's History will keep open the window to Tucson's past and make the history of Tucson accessible and available for generations to come.
