Finding Textbooks

K-12 Textbooks

The UA Libraries maintain a small collection of K-12 textbooks for teachers in training.

They are shelved under the call number LT1001 in the Main Library (4th floor) or under MT1001 in the Fine Arts Library.

Under LT1001, they are subarranged by broad subject, for example:

LT1001.L36 - Literature

LT1001.M38 - Mathematics

LT1001.S35 - Science

LT1001.S66 - Social studies

Under MT1001, there is only one subject: Music

Most of these books can also be searched under LC Subject "Textbooks - K-12."

College Textbooks

ASUA buys a limited selection of course textbooks each year and these are placed on Reserve in the Main Library.

They are listed in the Library Catalog under author and title.

They can be checked out for 2 hours at a time.

A complete list of those currently on Reserve is here (and is also linked on our Course Reserves page).

Note that the UA Libraries normally do not buy course textbooks, nor can we place Interlibrary Loan requests for them (due to the difficulty in obtaining them and because they cannot be kept for an entire semester).
