View Film Databases (streaming video)

Browse Films:

Search for Films

  1. Go to the library catalog.
  2. In the Any Field box, type your title or keyword(s)
  3. Select VIDEO/FILM from the FORMAT drop-down menu
  4. Click Search

For entertainment/feature films, type Feature Films as the SUBJECT of your search along with a keyword, or browse all feature films.

Browse Films by Format or Location (Alphabetical)

Browse Films on the Virtual Shelf (Call Number Browsing)

You can electronically "browse" films by the call number order they are shelved, helping identify films in particular subject areas.

  1. Identify the call number of a title (of a book or a video) in the subject are you are interested in.
  2. Go to the Library of Congress Call Number search.
  3. Type the letters of the call number (such as "BP") and click Search.
  4. Click the Limit/Sort button
  5. By "WHERE Item is located," select Media DVD/VHS (Main Library)
  6. Click Submit

This will give you a shelf list of all the media titles in that call number range.

Browse Films in Foreign Languages

  1. Go to the catalog
  2. Type * in the Any Field search box
  3. Select VIDEO/FILM from the FORMAT drop-down menu
  4. Select the language within the Language drop-down menu
  5. Click Search

These lists may include films that only have sub-titles in the indicated language.

Not Finding What You Need?

Some of these lists are large and difficult to browse and/or incomplete. If you do not see a film you are looking for, Ask a Librarian.

Any of the catalog searches can be modified by clicking the Modify Search button and adding a keyword, or by using one of the drop down menus to limit date, language, location, etc.
