Library Workstations

ArcGIS is loaded on all the computers in the Information Commons area. All computers in the Information Commons are networked to the black/white printers, color printers and plotter (for large print-outs of maps). The Express Document Center also has a large format scanner.

In addition,there is a GIS workstation in the Information Commons with ArcGIS and various datasets, either loaded on the hard drive or on CD-ROM (see List of Spatial Datasets ) .

What can Information Commons Help Desk staff provide?

Show people where to find ArcGIS software on any of the Information Commons computers or the location of the GIS workstation in the Information Commons.

Refer and show basics of the Arizona Electronic Atlas.

What can Library GIS specialist provide?

Help identify specific spatial data for your particular project, whether in the Library or online. You can also check in the UA Library Catalog or Spatial Dataset page.

Provide assistance with ArcGIS software such as manipulation, querying, customizing, displaying and printing geographic and attribute data.

Accept requests for the Library to purchase geospatial data.
