The American Library Association provides targeted copyright information. They also sponsor a blog and bulletin board where you can raise questions at the Copyright Advisory Network.

The Visual Resources Association is a multi-disciplinary organization dedicated to furthering research and education in the field of image management. Their site includes a statement regarding The Acquisition and Use of Images in Non-Profit Educational Visual Resources Collections and a Copy Photography Computator to assess the layer or rights in a given image.

Columbia University's Coyright Quick Guide is a great site for copyright information, readable responses to common problems, and analyses of related court decisions.

The Copyright Clearance Center is a not-for-profit organization working with publishers, authors, and other copyright holders to manage permissions for the use of copyrighted material. 

Cornell University Law School's Legal information Institute provides an excellent overview of copyright.

The University of Minnesota Copyright Information & Education site is another great site for a wide range of intellectual property tools including the Map of Use Issues.
