ECE 596 & 696 - Graduate Seminar: Library Tools and Applications

This page is an introduction to information resources discussed during the Library workshop for ECE 596 & 696

Step 3: Finging Journal Articles

You can search for a particular journal by performing a " JOURNAL TITLE SEARCH " using SABIO. A crucial component in looking for journal articles is the ability of breaking down a citation.

For Example:
Seek reliability enhancement in optical and magneto-optical disk data storage devices
Bui, N.; Sundareshan, M.K.; Tharp, H.S.; Magnetics, IEEE Transactions on  ,Volume: 29 , Issue: 6, Nov 1993 Pages:3802 - 3804.

You should have develop the ability of breaking down citations, into the title of the article, journal title, authors of the articles, volume issue & page numbers. After breaking down this information you will proceed by searching for the JOURNAL TITLE, after which you will narrow down to the specific volume and issue number.

If the journal you need is not available through the UA Library, you may request a photocopy through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
