Academic Search Complete (Index 1980-present; Full-text 1992-present) Covers a broad range of disciplines including general academic, business, social sciences, humanities, general sciences, education, and multi-cultural topics. Offers full text coverage for 3600 journals and indexing and abstracts for 4500 journals.
General Onefile (1980-present) Includes references--some with abstracts or full text--to articles from over 1,400 scholarly journals and general interest magazines. Updated monthly.
Subject Indexes
AGRICOLA (1970-present) Covers the international journal literature and monographs on agriculture and related subjects.
America History/Life (1954-present). Provides access to journals covering the scholarly literature of U.S. & Canadian history. Includes regional history journals, books & dissertations.
CAB - Agriculture (1972-present). Provides worldwide coverage of agriculture and related areas of applied biology, sociology, economics, and human and environmental health.
EconLit (1969-present). Indexes articles covering basic economics and economic aspects of history, health, education, policy, and agriculture as well as accounting and monetary policy.
GeoBase (1980-present) Indexes the literature of human and physical geography, geology, mineralogy, and ecology.
GeoRef (1785-present). Covers the American Geological Institute's geoscience database.
HAPI - Hispanic American Periodical Index (1970-present). Contains citations to articles about US-Hispanic and Latin American topics.
PAIS (Public Affairs Information System) (1972-present) Indexes the literature of public policy, social policy, and social sciences in general.
PopLine (1970-present). Provides worldwide coverage of population, family planning, and related health issues from journal articles, monographs, technical reports, and unpublished works
Social Sciences Citation Index (1973-present). Index to core journal articles and cited references in the social sciences. Includes some abstracts.
Sociological Abstracts (1973-present). Provides access to citations and abstracts to articles from an international collection of journal titles as well as abstracts to dissertations, and conference proceedings.
Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory. Provides publication, subscription and indexing information for over 210,000 serials (journals and magazines). Use to find out more information on a particular journal when evaluating articles.
Women's Studies International (1972-present). Covers subjects such as History, Family, Political/Social activism, Grassroots movements, Law, Violence/abuse, Health, Psychology, Sport, Culture, Lesbianism.

Government Reports
State of Arizona
- Search in the UA Library Catalog by keyword such as "urban renewal Arizona for print reports and State Rules and Regulations.
- Search on the State website at http://az.gov and look in the agency directory to find publications by state agencies. You can also view the State administrative code online.
Counties and Cities
- Search the UA Library Catalog by keyword for print reports and county rules and regulations.
- Search the county or city website, such as City of Tucson or Pima County. For city or county code, do a search on their website. The rules and regulations for Tucson can be found at City of Tucson Development Services Codes & Ordinances and the rules and regulations for Pima County can be found at Pima County Code.
Spatial Data and Statistics
Arizona Electronic Atlas -- interactive mapping site whose goal is to bring data together in one site. Map themes available include Natural Resources, People and Society, Business and Economics, and Environment and Population. Maps can be printed or downloaded. Most of the data can be downloaded as shapefiles.
Arizona Remote Image Archive -- provides access to image data, such as satellite imagery, DOQQs, DEMs, DRGs for the Sonoran desert region, including the US Southwest and northern Mexico, list of related UA courses, and links to geospatial technology sites.
Bureau of the Census -- Includes the 1990 and 2000 Census of Population and Housing, American FactFinder, and the Economic Census.
Lexis-Nexis Statistical Universe -- great source to use for federal, state, local and international statistics. The statistics are either online or in the library (either in print or on microfiche).
GIS AZUL : Geographic Information Systems at the University of Arizona Library -- Information on GIS in the University of Arizona Library -- Definitions of GIS, What is ArcView, Services Available in the Library, Data Available in the Library, Resources Available on Campus, and GIS Data Available on the Internet.
Statistics Resource Finder -- Comprehensive information on over 300 Web and print statistics resources ranging from Tucson and Arizona data, to country-level, to worldwide statistics. Coverage includes information on demographic, economic and historical data resources.
Statistical Resources on the Web -- Great place to start for links to a multitude of statistical resources.
Southern Arizona Data Services Program
At this site you can preview, view metadata and download spatial data to use in GIS software. Areas include: birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, species richness, vegetation, ownership, support coverages, administrative, landscape, and derived.
STAT-USA -- provides both national and international business, trade and economic information.
