This is a very good bibliography of scholarly book reviews. We have the older volumes in paper AI9 .I61 but from 1984 onwards it is on the Web.
About the U.S. and Canada, but may find some reviews of books about British history. Click on Book Reviews under the search boxes.
Humanities International Complete
Type the author of the biography on in search box and the title of the biography in another. Limit to Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals. After the search has been executed, there is an option of choosing book reviews.
Type the name of the author of the biography in one search box and the title of the biography in the next search box. Limit to Peer Reviewed for scholarly journals.
Type author’s name and title of book being reviewed. Limit to Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals. Select Document Type Book Review.
Use Advanced Search. Limit by Type “Review.” Type the title of the biography in the search screen and change the drop down box by it to Article Title.

Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index. Index to core journal articles and cited references. Includes some abstracts. An unusual index to cited references -that is that this title indexes The references/bibliographies in the end of journal articles. Book reviews automatically "cite" the book being reviewed. One can search by book author, and then limit the cited references to just book reviews rather than a particular title being listed in an articles bibliography
ATLA Religion Database
Index to literature of all traditions, with special strength in Judaism and Christianity. Includes book reviews. Coverage: 1949 to present. Limit publication type to Reviews.

(Wilson) Biography Reference Bank
Biography Reference Bank contains narrative profiles of over a half million people. Included are the original profiles of Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated (covering many print volumes of biographical reference books published by H. W. Wilson and others, including all volumes of Current Biography), combined with periodicals coverage of Biography Index and full text articles, page images, and abstracts from the complete range of Wilson databases.
An index to hundreds of sources with biographical information on people worldwide and from all time periods. You will need to consult the UA Library Catalog to find the call number for each information source.
Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography provides signed biographies of 50,000 men and women who have shaped all aspects of British history from the earliest times up to the present. It is searchable by name, full text, references, contributors, images, and may also be browsed alphabetically by name, or by themes. For British authors.
The American National Biography offers full text portraits of more than 17,500 [deceased] men and women from all eras and walks of life whose lives have shaped the nation. Includes about 7000 biographies not found in the earlier Dictionary of American Biography [which was also published under auspices of the ACLS]. Note: for deceased authors only. Use the Search by Name box; type last name, followed by first name.
