This is a guide to basic citation rules, with examples of frequently asked citation questions from three major style guides (Modern Languages Association, American Psychological Association, and Chicago Manual of Style).  Ask your professor or GA if a particularl style should be used.  Otherwise, be consistent!  Use the same style throughout your paper!

Plagiarism and academic dishonesty are growing problems at this university and at other schools around the country.  The penalties for plagiarism can be serious, ranging from failure of the assignment, to failure of the course, to suspension from the university.  This page will offer you a little guidance on how to avoid plagiarism.
