JOUR 470 - The Press and Society: Library Research Guide
News Sources: Establishment Media
NOTE: Most news sources (newspapers and broadcast news) do not provide free access to archives (older articles or programs) through their Web sites. If you want to search for anything other than the current day's or week's news, use the news databases listed below.
News Databases
The following are databases licensed by the UA Library for use by UA faculty and students. They contain citations or full-text of articles from different news publications (newspapers, magazines, broadcast news, journals). The dates covered vary by database, but many of them go back to the 1970s and 1980s.
The library also has archives of many newspapers on microfilm in the Main Library, 1st floor. In addition, we have access to many, many other publications. To see if the library has a particular title, do a Journal Title search in the UA Library Catalog. The catalog record will show you if we have it available in print (in the library) and/or online.
