This is a list of anthropology films and videos. It includes many titles about Indians of South America.
Videos and DVD's are shelved by call number in the media area of the Main Library to the left of the desk when you enter through the main entrance. They are shelved in two separate sequences, the videos to the right and the dvd's to the left. The Library has players for these materials located in viewing rooms behind the circulation area. Ask for directions at the Information Desk. Films are located on the first floor (you enter the Library on the second floor) in compact shelving behind the maps and before the microforms on 1B. There is one viewing room which has a projector for film. Ask for assistance.
Searching for Information about Films
Film Index International
Detailed information about motion pictures (production information) & cinema workers. Includes references to articles full: Film Index International gives full international coverage of films and film personalities from over 170 countries, up to the present day. All eras of film-making are covered - from the early silent movies to recent box-office hits. Based on the British Film Institute's Summary of Information on Film and Television (SIFT) database, Film Index International is both inclusive and authoritative.
Film Literature Index Online (1976-2001)
The FLI Online contains approximately 700,000 citations to articles, film reviews and book reviews published between 1976-2001. The print version, at Z5784.M9 F5 Info Commons Ref covers 1973-present.

The Internet's biggest and best Media Arts resource also often provides links to on-line reviews and criticism for individual film titles.

Finding Information in the Catalog
Finding videos, etc. Use the title of the film. If we own it, the record should come up. If you are not sure about the title, try keyword searching with words in the titles. MODIFY your results by FORMAT: Video/Film.
