Locating Books, Government Documents, Maps and Media

Locating articles in journals, magazines and newspapers

Use the following indexes to locate magazine and journal articles on your topic of interest. If the database you use is full text, you will be able to read the article online.

Search Tips: If the article is not available online, search the library catalog for the journal title to see if the library subscribes to the journal. For off-campus access, go to the UA Library website and select Search for Articles . Enter your last name and CatCard number for access to article indexes.

Public Affairs Information Service (PAIS International)
Indexes and provides a brief summary of books, articles, and government documents dealing with public politics, and social issues. (1972-present). 

Global NewsBank (International News) 
Comprehensive database of current information articles, news summaries, wire services, broadcasts, transcripts, and newspapers and periodicals from hundreds of news sources from around the world (including sources from the U.S.). Full-text.

LexisNexis Academic Universe
Provides access to a wide range of news, business, legal, and reference information - Full text.

Monthly Catalog (GPO)
Provides index to U.S. federal government publications. Many recent publications available in full text.  (1976-present). 

AUL (Air University Library) Index to Military Periodicals

National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT)
