III. Finding Articles

SEARCHING ELECTRONIC  DATABASES
Indexes are what you use to find articles in journals, magazines and newspapers. Search these databases to find articles about specific authors, topics, literary movements, etc.

TIP: Searching for articles in the indexes/databases is commonly a 2-step process:

1. Identify relevant articles (using databases). Sometimes the articles are available full-text from the database you're using (i.e., Academic Search Premier). If the article is not full-text go to step 2 and 3.

2. Determine if the Library owns the journal/magazine (searching under "journal title" on the Library's Catalogs of Books and more)

3. Sometimes, it's necessary to proceed with one more step. If the Library doesn't subscribe to the journal, you can request a copy through Interlibrary Loan (use Interlibrary Loan link from the UALibrary's homepage)
