ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Full Text - This is the online equivalent of Dissertation Abstracts International . Includes citations to dissertations and theses from around the world as far back as 1637. 
FULL TEXT of dissertations from 1996 forward (and many from earlier years) can be downloaded.

Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) provides a union catalog of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) made available by current member institutions in the US and around the world.

Center for Research Libraries - International Doctoral Dissertations Program - A collection of over 800,000 foreign dissertations held by CRL (of which UA Libraries is a member). All dissertations can be most easily searched in the CRL catalog by selecting the Dissertations tab, and then using drop-down searches for country and university. Over 3000 of these are available as full text online (searchable in the CRL catalog by selecting the e-Resources tab, then limiting by location "Dissertations" in the advanced search). Others may be requested through our Interlibrary Loan service for digitization-on-demand.

Theses Canada - The central location for finding information about Canadian theses and dissertations. Many from the mid-1990s to the present are freely available electronically as PDF files.

Index to Theses - A comprehensive listing of theses with abstracts accepted for higher degrees by universities in Great Britain and Ireland since 1716.

EThOS (Electronic Theses Online Service, formerly British Library Thesis Service) - Open access database of dissertations from 110 UK institutions. Many are available online, or digitization can usually be requested for free or through CRL. (Registration is required to download.)

 

OpenThesis - a free repository of theses, dissertations, and other academic documents. Documents can be uploaded by their authors, and downloaded by others, all for free.

Library of Congress Dissertations and Theses Resources - An annotated list of web sites created by the Library of Congress.
