Description: Sonoran Desert Knowledge Exchange Community Showcase:

Presenting the UA Museum of Natural History and the UA Herbarium!

Come to this program and be amazed by how much more there is to learn about Southern Arizona’s most valuable treasure – our Sonoran Desert!

• Scientists reveal hidden desert secrets

• Meet other desert advocates, enthusiasts, and researchers

• Share your desert tales and experiences

• Discover the keys to learning more about our desert

This showcase features presentations by Dr. Peter Reinthal, UA Museum of Natural History, and Dr. Shelley McMahon, UA Herbarium. Dr Reinthal and Dr. McMahon will share information and show examples of the resources that their respective collections provide to enhance the discovery and awareness of Sonoran Desert plants and animals.

This is the first in a series of four Community Showcases planned for this spring by the Sonoran Desert Knowledge Exchange (SDKE). SDKE is a collaborative initiative led by the UA Libraries that seeks to bring together individuals and organizations who have information, services and other resources that can contribute to increased awareness, research and preservation of the Sonoran Desert.
