Single Sign On: Now at The Library

Date: October 6, 2008

Contact: AskSSO@u.library.arizona.edu

Description: UPDATE 12/09/2008:

Building on Single Sign on access for off-campus users to databases and journals, beginning January 6, 2009, customers' access to “My Account” services will also allow users to log in using their NetID (this replaces the use of your CatCard number). These services include the following:

  • Placing holds

  • Renewing materials

  • Paying late fees

  • Preferred searches

  • Viewing your checked-out materials

  • Reading History

You will still use your CatCard to check out library materials.

UA NetID’s are available to UA faculty, staff, and students, including those with affiliated/associated status. Community members will not be affected by this change.

Off-campus access to online resources at the UA Libraries became easier and more convenient in October when the library started using NetID through WebAuth to access databases and journals from OFF CAMPUS. You now simply use your NetID through WebAuth (as you do for many other UA services such as webmail and D2L) to use the library’s journals and databases when you are off campus. Once you sign on, you don’t have to re-authenticate to access other WebAuth services. If you need a NetID, you can obtain one by visiting the NetID Website. This change to a single sign-on will primarily affect students, faculty and staff. Friends of the UA Libraries and Alumni will continue to log in as in the past. If you have questions, you can send a message to the “AskSSO” e-mail address above. Also, a FAQ document is available here:
