University Libraries will be hosting two lectures featuring nationally known scholars during its celebration of Open Access Week.
At the first talk, David Shulenburger will give a lecture titled "The Research University Imperative to Distribute Scholarly Materials." Shulenburger is the first Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and his research focuses on the economics of scholarly communications and universities.
Shulenburger’s lecture will be followed by comments from University of Arizona faculty:
- James Wyant, Dean, College of Optical Sciences and president-elect of the Optical Society of America
- Joseph Wilder, Director of the Southwest Studies Center and editor of Journal of the Southwest
