Join us for Tuesday Talks @ the University Libraries, an exciting lecture series that explores the wide ranging research interests at the University of Arizona.
Celeste González de Bustamante, Professor, UA School of Journalism, will examine media coverage of SB 1070 in a lecture titled "Keeping it real along the U.S.-Mexico border: challenges and struggles in the midst of Arizona's firestorm." Professor Bustamante will also discuss projects she has developed to encourage aspiring journalists to look beyond the obvious when covering border issues.
On Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Special Collections will host a screening of “Another Side of the Border,” the UA student-produced documentary that examines borderlands issues that are often overshadowed, emphasizing the social, cultural and economic interchange between the deeply intertwined states of Arizona and Sonora.
