Join us at the Friends of the University Libraries Annual Luncheon as author Thomas Cobb, whose most recent novel, With Blood in Their Eyes, was published by the UA Press, delivers a keynote lecture titled “History into Fiction, Fiction into History.”
Thomas Cobb, acclaimed author of the novel Crazy Heart, brings to us his newest novel, With Blood in Their Eyes, featuring a tale of crime, pursuit, and adventure that is sure to please any reader of western, historical and crime fiction. With Blood in Their Eyes is the first novel based on the facts surrounding the 1918 Power Affair, Arizona’s deadliest gunfight. Cobb is a superb storyteller and is fascinated with the region and the event. In his hands, this already gripping tale comes alive in a fast-paced, evocative story that goes far beyond the stereotypical simple tale of crime and pursuit.
Thomas Cobb is also the author of Crazy Heart, a novel that was made into an Academy Award-winning motion picture. Of Crazy Heart, novelist Elmore Leonard says “put this one on your list.” Director Scott Cooper says Cobb is a “man who knows and writes of the West like few others... With Blood in Their Eyes is a singular achievement."
