CIA World Factbook - General guide to countries of the world, including maps and flags.
Columbia Gazetteer of the World - Geographic dictionary of places, physical features, political subdivisions, and special places of the world. Provides type of place, location and description. Descriptions vary from a brief entry for a small village to lengthy essays for a country or state.

Constitution Finder - This index from University of Richmond offers constitutions, charters, amendments, and other related documents, arranged by country.
Economist Intelligence Unit Country Reports - Provides background and historical context of current economic and political events and in-depth analysis of political and economic trends for over 200 countries, mid-1990s to present. (Available only to UA.)
Embassy World - Search by host or guest country using drop-down menus or scroll through a list of embassies and consulates of the world, embassies of other nations in the United States, U.S. embassies worldwide, and United Nations permanent missions. Provides contact information and links to Web pages, when available. Easy to use and straightforward.
Europa World Plus - Europa World Plus is the online version of the Europa World Year Books and the nine volumes Regional Surveys of the World series. This reference sources covers political and economic information in more than 250 countries and territories. (Available only to UA.)
Geography Web Research - Created by Chris Kollen, geography subject specialist at the University of Arizona Library, this extensive collection is a great starting point for geographical information.
Historical Atlas of the 20th Century
Internet Country Codes - these codes are often present at the ends of web page addresses and email addresses from other countries.
The Library of Congress: Country Studies - This online series presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world. Note: these are electronic versions of books published between 1988 and 1998, so some information may be outdated.
National Atlas of the United States - The National Atlas contains a comprehensive map-like view into the data collected by the Federal Government. Interactive multimedia maps are also provided.
Political Database of the Americas - Provides electronic informational resources available to students, academics, policy analysts and government officials in Latin American politics. This site is multilingual, English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
TopoZone - TopoZone is the Web's center for providing interactive topographic maps for the Entire United States. "If you're looking for maps that don't leave big blank spaces between the highways, welcome!"
U.S. Gazetteer - This gazetteer is used to identify places to view with the Tiger Map Server and obtain census data from the 1990 Census Lookup server.

Arizona Electronic Atlas - A web-based GIS interactive atlas of Arizona with several map themes and layers including species richness, EPA sites, demographics, economics, and more. Data is available for free downloading. The links page is an excellent resource to other online atlases. Created at the University of Arizona.
50 States and Capitals - Provides capital information and quick facts about the particular state. The official state home page is behind the title link on each state page.
CityTownInfo.com - Arranged by state, this site provides basic demographic profiles, housing statistics and climate data for cities and many towns throughout the US, and also includes comparative indicators. Drawn primarily from public domain sources such as the 2000 US Census.
State and Local Government on the Net: A Guide to Government Sponsored Internet sites - These pages are intended to provide convenient access to a wide variety of links to government information.
