The society promotes planetary exploration and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence as well as space science by facilitating communication of information and ideas between scientists. The site itself contains a huge reservoir of planetary news including links, Carl Sagan's Universe and related sites, current projects, web links on planetary science and Mars missions.

Students for the Exploration and Development of Space

The American Astronomical Society (AAS), established 1899, is the major organization of professional astronomers in North America.
