BACKGROUND INFORMATION

In the UA Science-Engineering Library, most entomology books and journals are shelved in the QL (Zoology) call number area. Related call number areas include SB 599-999(Plant Diseases and Pests), SF 521-561 (Apiculture, etc.) and QH (Natural History). The call number location guide will direct you to the appropriate library floor and section where items with those call numbers can be found.

FINDING ARTICLES

AGRICOLA
Covers the international journal literature and monographs on agriculture and related subjects. (1984-present).

BIOSIS
Encompasses the entire field of life sciences and covers original research reports and reviews in biological and biomedical areas. Nearly 7000 serials are monitored for inclusion as well as notes and letters, technical data reports, review articles, translation journals, meeting reports, bibliographies, nomenclature rules and taxonomic keys. (1969-present)

CAB Abstracts
Provides worldwide coverage of agriculture and related areas of applied biology, sociology, economics, and human and environmental health. Abstracts included for over 95% of records. (1910 - present).

ISI Web of Science - Science Citation Index
Index to core journal articles and cited references in science and technology. Includes some abstracts. (1900 - present)

PubMed
PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, includes over 15 million citations from MEDLINE and additional life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources.

Wildlife & Ecology Studies Worldwide
Provides 400,000+ records to worldwide literature on all wild vertebrates, excluding fish. Topics include: habitat, management, endangered species, diseases, genetics, ecosystems, life history, habits, distribution, etc. Indexes journal articles, conference proceedings, government reports, field studies, books, and theses and dissertations. Permits taxonomic and geographic search approaches as well as traditional keyword/subject searching. Since 1996 abstracts are available for many items. (1935 - present. Updated quarterly.)

Zoological Record
Indexes over 6,500 international journals, review annuals, monographs, meeting proceedings, books, and reports. All major areas of zoology are represented, including: behavior, ecology, evolution, habitat, nutrition, parasitology, reproduction, taxonomy, and zoogeography. Abstracts available beginning in 2001. (1978 - present.)
