Academic Onefile
Academic OneFile includes a high percentage of peer-reviewed, full-text articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources. With extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects, this database indexes over 8000 titles and includes full text for over 5000 titles

Academic Search Premier
Multidisciplinary database that includes full-text articles. Offers full text coverage for 1,000 journals and indexing for 3,000 journals. (Full text 1992-present; Index 1980-present). Searches may be limited to peer-reviewed journals. Probably the most complete interdisciplinary database available at the U of A.

Academic Universe (Lexis Nexis)
Includes general topic news, as well as company, industry, market, government and political news. Covers many newspapers and news wires, though the coverage of these sources is often selective.

Essay and General Literature Index
Essay and General Literature Index essays and articles contained in collections of essays and miscellaneous works published in the United States, Great Britain, and Canada. More than 300 volumes are indexed annually. EGL focuses on the humanities and social sciences, with subject coverage ranging from economics, political science, and history to criticism of literary works, drama, and film. One of the few indexes that covers articles/essays within books and anthologies. Coverage: 1985 - Present

InfoTRAC Onefile (replacement for Expanded Academic ASAP)
An interdisciplinary index to journals in humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Indexes 9,000 journals, magazines of interest plus the New York Times, 5,000 of which are available with at least some fulltext. Coverage: varies by title. A significant amount in fulltext. Replaces Expanded Academic ASAP

Wilson OmniFile Full Text Select
A multidisciplinary database that includes a good deal of fulltext articles. Includes many film journals and trade publications. Searches can be limited to peer-reviewed journals only.

ABELL
ABELL (Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature) contains over 800,000 records covering monographs, periodical articles, critical editions of literary works, book reviews, collections of essays and doctoral dissertations published anywhere in the world from 1920 onwards. All aspects and periods of English literature are covered. Coverage is international, including material in languages other than English. Includes over 100 full-text journals. Coverage: 1920-present

AFI [American Film Institute] Catalog
The AFI Catalog, compiled by film experts and researchers at the American Film Institute, presents a detailed view of American feature films produced during the last century up to 1970. AFI Catalog offers an unmatched level of detail, with full production and cast information, extensive plot summaries and production notes.

Art Abstracts
Index with broad international coverage (but emphasizing British and American art). Indexes a number of important film/media journals. Also covers photography, crafts, landscape architecture, design, folk art, art history, etc. Coverage: September 1984 to date. Print equivalent (Art Index) dates back to 1929. NX 20.A77 Main Ref.

ARTBibliographies Modern
Gives citations and abstracts to international art, photography, design and architectural history publications, including museum catalogs. Also indexes some film/media publications. Coverage: 1974 - current. Print equivalent dates back to 1969. Z5935.L64 Main Ref.

Arts & Humanities Citation Index (Web of Science)
Index to core journal articles and cited works in the fine arts and humanities, including archaeology, art, Asian studies, classics, dance, film, folklore, history, language and literature, linguistics, music, theater, and classics. Allows one to see how many times a particular article has been cited by other scholars in the field, and by whom. This can often be a good "back-door" means of finding relevant articles on interdisciplinary topics. Online coverage from 1990-present. Print coverage from 1978. Z 5937 A788 Main Ref.

Alternative Press Index
Indexes all articles of 5 or more paragraphs in approximately 250 alternative, radical and left publications that focus on social, political, economic, and environmental causes. Subjects covered include: racial and gender issues, gay and lesbian studies, labor, ecology, political organizations, and more. Coverage: 1991 - present

Contemporary Women's Issues
Full text from more than 500 sources on women's issues, published by more than 100 organizations worldwide. Includes tables and statistical data. Coverage: 1992 to Present.

The critical index: a bibliography of articles on film in English, 1946-1973. Z5784.M9 G47 Main.
A good source for critical material from the early post-war years through the early 1970s.

Film Feature Forum
The on-line bibliography by the Audio-Visual Euro-Net. This online index offers English abstracts of essays and articles recently published in eleven film journals all over Europe.

Film & History Index (CD ROM & Print) PN1993 .F4105. Main
A 26-year index of Film & History: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Film and Television Studies. Available on CD ROM and in Print.

Film Indexes Online
Combines the American Film institute Catalog and Film Index International in a single database.

Film Index International 
Detailed information about motion pictures (production information) & cinema workers. Includes references to articles full: Film Index International gives full international coverage of films and film personalities from over 170 countries, up to the present day. All eras of film-making are covered - from the early silent movies to recent box-office hits. Based on the British Film Institute's Summary of Information on Film and Television (SIFT) database, Film Index International is both inclusive and authoritative.

Film Literature Index Online (1976-2001)
The FLI Online contains approximately 700,000 citations to articles, film reviews and book reviews published between 1976-2001.  The print version, at Z5784.M9 F5 Info Commons Ref covers 1973-present.

GenderWatch
Fulltext database covering gender-related topics. Coverage: 1978-present.

Humanities International Complete
Bibliographic coverage of humanities literature.

International Index to Film Periodicals [FIAF]
FIAF Index to Film Periodicals is a bibliographical index offering coverage of domestic and international academic and popular film journals from 1972 to the present. Also included is the Treasures from Film Archives Database (with holdings information on over 35,000 silent films in archives around the world), the Documentation Collections database (with information on domestic and international film archives) and a database of FIAF member publications (for publications as early as 1934, and comprehensive since 1966).

International Index to the Performing Arts
Covers the disciplines of dance, film, drama/theater, broadcast arts, the performance business and more. Indexes dozens of film and media arts related journals. Includes some full text.

MLA Bibliography (literature, language, linguistics)
Access to scholarly works on many major films from a literary studies perspective.  !963-present. No Fulltext. Note: The print version of this index for 1970-1975 at Call Number P1 M64 [Main Ref] contain abstracts of the articles for those years which are not included in the online database.

The New Film Index: A Bibliography of Magazine Articles in English, 1930-1970. Z5784.M9 M29 1975 Main
A good source for historical research on film. Most databases do not cover these early years.

Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature AI3 .R48 Information Commons Ref.
Includes references to actors, actresses, directors, and other people in the film and television industries. The library has the printed edition of the index from the late nineteenth century to date.

Retrospective Index to Film Periodicals, 1930-1971. Z5784.M9 B39 Main
Historical index of film scholarship predates the Film Literature Index, above. Indexes 14 English-language film periodicals, as well as articles from the Village Voice.

Sociological Abstracts 
Access to scholarly works on many major films and other media arts from a sociological perspective.

ABI/INFORM
Indexes articles in over 1000 academic journals, magazines, and newspapers, of which over half are full-text. Broad subject coverage of business, management, accounting, information sciences, and related disciplines. Also includes information on over 60,000 companies. Searches may be limited to peer-reviewed journals.
Coverage: 1971-Present.

Academic Universe (Lexis Nexis)
For business news/information, select "Business from the left navigation bar, then select from "News," "Accounting Literature," "Company Information," or Business Reference Materials." .

Business and Company Resource Center
Company and industry profiles, company brand information, business rankings, investment reports, and articles from business periodicals. Great for researching movie studios, getting industry informtion, etc. Mostly full-text. Coverage: 1980-present

Business NewsBank
In-depth company, industry, product and executive news, covering both private and public companies. Offers full text coverage of 500 regional and local business publications.

Business Source Complete
      Includes oodles of fulltext articles (indexes over 10,000 scholarly business journals, with full text for over 9,500 titles). Also includes industry & market research reports, product reviews & SWOT analyses. Some regional/local coverage as well (includes Inside Tucson Business).
