Name of Library or Museum or Archive Repository as an    Author Search

To find catlaogs of holdings in a particular country when the name of an archive or library is unknown, from the Keyword page search the following as a   Subject Search:

Historical museums—[Country]

To find manuscripts in UA Library Special Collections for the Early Modern Period,

Search your general topic by Keyword and limit Format to "Manuscripts" and location "Special Collections" and if you want, published before xxxx date.

Catalogs and Archives for Other Libraries

National Union Catalogue of Manuscript Collections(NUCMC)
A cooperative cataloging effort which identifies manuscript collections in the U.S. From 1959-1986 listed in print volumes only (Z6620.U5 N3). After 1986 most cataloging appears in WorldCat.

Repositories of Primary Sources
A listing of websites describing holdings of manuscripts, archives, rare books, historical photographs, and other primary sources for the research scholar with worldwide coverage.

The worl'd larges union catalog of books, manuscripts and other materials held in libraries worldwide. The InterLibrary Loan request form is part of the database.

Use for locating archives, manuscripts, and other materials not in the UA library.  All CRL materials can be borrowed for 6 months.

Medieval Manuscripts in Dutch Collections
This database contains descriptions of all medieval western manuscripts written in Latin script and produced up to c. 1550 now preserved in public and semi-public collections in the Netherlands. These include the collections of libraries, museums and archives, as well as the collections of monastic orders and some other private institutions that are open to researchers.
