Hispanic American Periodical Index (HAPI)
Describes material on US-Hispanic and Latin American topics. Covers over 500 scholarly journals worldwide since 1970. The search interface includes an option for limiting searches to "U.S. Hispanics." Keyword searches for "Chicanos" and/or "Mexican-Americans" are also recommended.
Latino Literature: Poetry, Drama and Fiction
The most comprehensive collection of Latino Literature yet created. When complete it will include 100,000 pages of fiction and poetry and 450 plays, representing the Chicano culture and all the different ethnicities of Latin American writers with a Hispanic background working in the United States. Although the collection includes materials from the Nineteenth Century, the vast majority of the materials are from the Chicano Renaissance to the present.
The three major groups are represented: Chicanos, Puerto Rican and Cubans. Additional work by Argentineans, Salvadorans, Dominicans, and other Central and South Americans is included.
America: History and Life
Article abstracts and citations of reviews covering the scholarly literature of U.S. & Canadian history. Includes regional history journals, book reviews & dissertations. Relevant subject headings include: Mexican-Americans; Chicano Studies; and Chicano movement. Additionally, try "Mexican-American" and "Chicano" in keyword searches.
Handbook of Latin American Studies (HLAS)
A multidisciplinary handbook that alternates between social sciences and the humanities from around the world and is updated monthly. The print version of HLAS is updated annually.
