Finding Books

University of Arizona Library Catalog. Use this source for finding books owned by the University of Arizona Libraries. The catalog is searchabe by author, title, subject or keyword. Most of music materials owned by the University of Arizona Library are housed at the Fine Arts Library.

Library of Congress. A catalog of records representing books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, cartographic materials, music, sound recordings, and visual materials. Useful for researchers looking for hard to find information. Some materials available through  Interlibrary Loan.

The New York Public Library. Music Division One of the world's preeminent music collections. Chronicles the art of music in all its diversity - opera, spirituals, ragtime, jazz, musical comedy, orchestral, rock, and pop music

Worldcat. A catalog of records for all type of material cataloged by libraries throughout the world. Includes records for manuscripts written as early as the 12th century as well as records for books, journals, software, etc. created last week. This database is updated daily. Some materials available through  Interlibrary Loan.

The British Library. The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the world's greatest libraries.

FINDING DISSERTATIONS

Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology--Online. DDM-Online presents an index to dissertations-in-progress and a bibliography of completed dissertations reported since mid-1995, arranged under the traditional broad categories. In addition, DDM-Online includes all the records previously published in the earlier printed editions of Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology.

Archive of Dissertation Abstracts In Music  This archive is maintained by Geoffrey Chew mainly on the basis of material supplied by Andrew Dell'Antonio. The abstracts relate both to completed dissertations and to those in progress.

Music Theory Online Dissertation Index This index includes announcements of completed and in-progress dissertations that have appeared in Music Theory Online

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses - Full Text . Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Master's theses published from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. UMI offers over 1.8 million titles for purchase in microfilm or paper formats. More than 600,000 are available in native or image PDF. formats for immediate free download. Coverage: 1861 - Current

The University of Arizona Electronic Theses and Dissertations. The Electronic Theses and Dissertations database is the intellectual output of graduate students at the University of Arizona. The database allows for searching and browsing on all the topics. Coverage include theses and dissertations (2005 - ) approved by the Graduate college and masters' reports (2003 -) approved by College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona. The database is updated weekly.
