A non-profit public interest and research organization representing practicing planners, officials, and citizens involved with urban and rural planning issues. Includes Daily Planning News, full-text access to planning articles from U.S. newspapers and periodicals.

Arizona Planning Association

Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning - consortium of university programs in urban planning.

City of Tucson Department of Urban Planning and Design

Responsible for the current and long-range land use planning functions for the City of Tucson.

Community Development Society - members represent a variety of fields; an organization for community development practitioners and citizen leaders from around the world.

Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU)

A collaboration among architects, planners, developers, and community activists working to reform urban growth patterns. Includes searchable databases of publications, an image bank, and a bibliography.

International City/County Management Association (ICMA)

Planners Network

An association of professionals, activists, academics, and students involved in physical, social, economic, and environmental planning in urban and rural areas, who promote fundamental change in our political and economic systems.

Urban Land Institute - association of real estate development professions.

The Urban Institute (UI)

A non-partisan economic and social policy research organization. Covers international, federal, state, and local sectors on housing, neighborhoods and community, and mobility and transportatioin.

Smart City Public Radio Program

The weekly radio talk show explores urban life and planning trends. Guests on the show include public policy experts, elected officials, economists, developers, and planners.

Urban Planning Research Blog

Maintained by Randall Crane, a UCLA Department of Urban Planning professor. Topics include sprawl, suburbanization, smart growth, and transportation. Posts have an academic tone and include bibliographic references.
