Multidisciplinary database that includes some full-text articles. Easy to use Index with lots of full text. A good starting place.

Anthropology Plus
Anthropological linguistics. Anthropology, archaeology, cultural studies including linguistics. Offers searching in Anthropological Literature from Harvard University and Anthropological Index from the Royal Anthropological Institute in the UK. Coverage goes back into the late nineteenth century.

AnthroSource
AnthroSource contains current issues of the Anthropological Association of America's most critical peer-reviewed publications. 

LLBA: Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts
The best overall database for linguistics and language issues. Broad coverage of issues including language education. Indexes journals, books, dissertations, technical reports. Began in 1973.

ERIC
Indexes journal articles and documents in the broad areas of education and linguistics. Full text now available for 92% of ERIC documents added to the system from1993 to present.

MLA: Modern Language Association International Bibliography
Covers language and linguistics as well as folklore. Indexes journals, books, book chapters, dissertations. Began in 1963. Contains links to some full text.

PsycINFO
Classic database for psychology and language acquisition. Citations and abstracts to articles, dissertations, and book chapters. 1887 to date. Contains links to some full text.

Social Science Citation Index
Part of the ISI WEB of Science citation service, this data base lets you discover who is citing whom.

Sociological Abstracts
Sociology and anthropology of language. Citations and abstracts to articles, dissertations, and conference proceedings. 1973 to date. Contains links to some full text.

Worldcat
Books, serials including journals, microforms, archives and media from libraries around the world.

Dissertations Abstracts
Full text for dissertations from 1998 on. Abstracts and/or entries for other dissertations and some masters theses from over 1,000 universities. The majority are in North America, some are European. 1861-present.
