MEDICAL DATABASES

Allied & Complimentary Medicine Database
Allied and Complementary Medicine Database (AMED)is produced by the British Library, Health Information Services Centre. It provides literature citations from a selection of journals in complementary medicine, palliative care, and several professions allied to medicine, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and podiatry.

Alt HealthWatch
This alternative health database provides full text for 180 publications in the collection, including full text for many peer-reviewed journals. Alt HealthWatch provides in-depth coverage across the full spectrum of subject areas covered by complementary and alternative medicine dating back to 1990.

CINAHL (Nursing)
Comprehensive, authoritative coverage of the literature in nursing and allied health care areas. Selected journals are also indexed in the areas of Consumer Health, Biomedicine, and Health Sciences Librarianship.

Health Reference Center
Full-text; Consumer health documents including term definitions, book chapters, organization information, pamphlets, and journal and popular magazine articles.

Dissertations from the UA
Current Research @ UA searches UMI's Dissertation Abstracts database only for those dissertations and theses submitted by the University of Arizona, dating back to 1924. Academic department information is not provided. Abstracts are available from 1984, and full text is available for downloading from 1996 forward.

Dissertations and Theses - Full Text
Index of all doctoral dissertations and some master's theses from most North American and many European colleges and universities. Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350- word abstracts written by the author. Master's theses published from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Includes full text of dissertations from 1996 to present. NOTE: Some full text is not available due to restrictions placed by the author, patents pending or problems regarding use of copyrighted material without permission.
