Fee Structure

Billing and Processing Fees |
| Regular* materials | No fees are charged for material returned before the 21st day. A book is presumed lost when it is overdue 22 days or more. At that time a replacement fee of $140 will be levied. When returned the fee will reduce to $15.00/item to cover billing costs. |
| Journals | Bound journals circulate for 3 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for replacement of $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to $15.00/item to cover billing costs. |
| Videos/DVDs | Videos and DVDs circulate for 5 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for replacement of $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to $15.00/item to cover billing costs. |
Music CDs (except for specially marked boxsets that circulate for shorter periods) |
CDs circulate for 7 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to $15.00/item to cover billing costs. |
Music Phonodiscs (found in the Fine Arts Library) |
Music Phonodiscs circulate for 7 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to $15.00/item to cover billing costs. |
Reserve Materials |
Higher fees are levied on Reserve Material because of its special use. $1.00/hour for 2, 4, and 24-hour materials for the first day. Hourly fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). After being a day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to the amount of the accumulated fee for each hour overdue up to $48. $1.00/day for 3-day and 7-day materials for the first 5 days. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to $15.00/item to cover billing costs. |
| Laptops | Higher fees are levied on Laptops because of their special use. $15.00/hour. Hourly fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). After being a day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $2,800. When the laptop is returned the fee will reduce to $250 to cover billing costs. |
| Laptop Cases and Adaptors | Higher fees are levied on Laptop accessories because of their special use. $15.00/hour. Hourly fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 24th hour overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $150.00/item.This is due to the fact that we won’t check in the laptop without the other pieces. |
| Recalled Materials | $1.00/day. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 22nd day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $140 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to the amount of the accumulated fee for each day overdue up to $21. |
Interlibrary Loan Materials |
$1.00/day per item in addition to $25 processing fee per item or pay the replacement fee of $140. |
- If a borrowed library item is returned damaged, depending on the extent of damage done, users will either be assessed a $15 re-binding fee or they will be charged the appropriate replacement fees. If you notice that an item is damaged prior to checkout, please report the damage to the Information Desk so that you will not be held responsible.
