Borrow & Request

Borrowing Privileges

Getting a Library Card

If you are a member of the University, use your CatCard to check out materials and access library services. Non-UA affiliates can purchase a community user card to get library privileges or review our other non-University borrower types.

You are responsible for returning all materials on time and for any late or damaged materials. Do not let others use your card and report immediately if your card is lost or stolen.

Privileges by Borrower Type

Select a borrower type to learn about eligibility, costs, loan periods, and other privileges. Some materials only circulate for a specific period of time and cannot be renewed—see exceptions by format type.
