Who can use these rooms?
PhD candidates who have passed their comprehensive exams, are in the process of dissertation research or writing, and are enrolled for a current or upcoming semester at UA.
Where are the rooms located?
Main Library (4 spaces) and Science-Engineering Library (8 spaces)
How can I use one?
Apply online. Rooms are assigned based on availability.
Are these shared rooms?
Yes, they are shared, quiet environments, assigned to multiple PhD candidates. The rooms include partitioned desks and lockers for storing research materials.
How long can I have access to a room?
You will be assigned a room for one semester (Fall, Spring, or Summer). If there is no waiting list, you can request an extension.
Can I keep belongings in my assigned room?
You may keep personal items in the room at your own risk. There are lockers in the rooms and we recommend you use these to store belongings.
Library materials left in the rooms must be checked out.
Will my laptop work in the room?
Yes, wireless is available throughout the libraries.
