created and maintained by AAASS's BDC subcommittee on collection development

feedback/questions

Responsibility: The Vendor List is maintained and updated by Michael Brewer, Chair of the AAASS BDC Subcommittee on Collection Development. All submissions or modifications of vendor records are vetted by him, or another member of the committee, before being added to the database. Generally, this can be done within 48 hours of their having been received.

Descriptions of the Fields Provided:
  • Your email address: We ask you to provide your email address only so that we can get back to you in the event we have questions about your submission/modification. Your email will not be stored in the database, nor will it be saved, shared, or used in any other way.

  • Vendor Name: Provide the vendor's name using Latin characters. If transliterating from Cyrillic, use LC transliteration (without diacritics). If the vendor's name includes Latin characters with diacritics, omit the diacritics.

  • Address: Give the vendor's full address (or addresses, if relevant).

  • Country: Provide the country for the vendor's primary address (you may list the countries for any other, secondary addresses in the address field).

  • Phone: Provide the vendor's primary phone number, including, if possible, the necessary area and/or country/city codes. Additional phone numbers may be listed in this field, if necessary.

  • Fax: Provide the vendor's primary fax number, including, if possible, the necessary area and/or country/city codes. Additional fax numbers may be listed in this field, if necessary.

  • email: Provide the vendor's primary email address. Additional email addresses may be provided. Separate each with a space.

  • URL: Provide the vendor's primary web address. Additional URLs may be provided. Separate each with a space.

  • Languages: Check all that apply. If "Other" is selected, specify which other language(s) in the "Notes" field. "Baltic," “Caucasian” and “Central Asian” are used as geographic, rather than linguistic categories. Thus, “Baltic” includes Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian; “Caucasian” includes Georgian, Azeri & Armenian; and "Central Asian" includes languages of that area: Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Pashto, Tajik, Turkmen, Uzbek, etc.

  • Formats: Select all that apply to a significant extent. (e.g. If a vendor does not sell maps or digital resources or scores regularly as a part of their business, don't check those boxes.)

  • Suggestions/Feedback: If you have suggestions as to how we can improve the content, organization, layout, procedures, etc. please let us know through this web form - Suggestions/Feedback
